The issue with this later approach is it's generic, uses a random generation technique that is subject to patterns, and very few options for modification (and basically giving different trains and symbols their own identity and logistics). The other way is to simply set up traffic and set up random generation which for me is not ideal but is working for the time being. Right now I have too many other projects that I'm working on with Run8 and my server.įor the record what I have done in the past is schedule them in but this is both time intensive, and as mentioned requires getting out of whatever you are doing to set it to AI. If either a) a possible upgrade giving us more options doesn't become available or b) my programmer continues to be busy with work: I will likely get back to programming RTS V2 late summer early fall of this year. My programmer who took over RTS for me is very busy with 80 hour work weeks. However those trains will pretty much be the same and may only differ in what motive power or location it spawns from (the consists play off of the industries).Īs for the solution to this I've been waiting to see if Run8 may have newer solutions, but I think they have other ideas right now. The only variable trains are those that play into the industries you set up. Other types will have all loads or all empties. It will create a generic train of loads at the front empties on the back for manifests. You will be limited to what Run8 has set up. You won't have the luxury of being able to simply spawn at where a train file was saved. The other thing is you'll come across a limited set of variables when random trains are created. In fact if you spawn any consist you have to manually click on it to set it to go into AI. There is no way to randomly spawn a created consist. If you look on the traffic PDF it's all about the traffic you set up that determines what kind of random trains that can be either spawned or manually spawned.
